annearchy: Re-read HP a chapter a day

In case any of y'all are unaware of this, there's a great LiveJournal community in which people are re-reading all 5 Harry Potter books befoe Half-Blood Prince is published. The community is called a_chapter_a_day and it's become my new LJ "crack". We started with chapter 1 of PS/SS on March 1st, so now we're up to chapter 7. It's not too late to join and get in on the fun. I hope to see some of you there (besides empressov, who is already there and making her usual astute comments).

queequegg: Hello!

Hey there **waves**, I figured everyone else was introducing themselves, so I might as well! I just randomly stumbled across this community when I saw it listed on a different LJ. It's a very cool idea. I just recently moved to Wisonsin from Colorado and I would love to get in touch with other Hp fans!

So, as far as my interests go... I love all things HP! I am particularly fond of the ship H/HR, but I certainly don't limit myself to it! I have recently fallen in love with the Sirius/Remus ship, I'm not much of a slasher, but I just think those two are meant for each other! I spend most of my time online lurking around the HP daily art source. As well as Portkey.org (like I said, I love H/Hr!!)

My new thing is HP fanart! I search for it everywhere, and have been drawing a bit myself. I was an art student, but I must say that my drawing skills have gotten a bit rusty over the years and I'm still perfecting my character designs. One day I shall be brave enough to post what I have, but until then I shall absorb all of the talent that I see in others!

Let's see... about me (personally) I'm a 25 year old college grad with a degree in Graphic Design! Like I said, I am new to Wisconsin, (my husband got a promotion and we moved here about 4 months ago) and I'm still looking to land that first REAL job. **sigh** until then, I work part time in retail while my husband works 45-55 hours a week leaving me WAY to much time to roam around online.

I look forward to the fun this community has to offer!

Greetings.

I am from Madison, and I love all thing Potter.

I read fanfics, and have tried to write some but nothing postable yet. I am pretty open to most ships, het, gen, slash - whatever, as long as it is written well it is all good to me. I try to avoid nasty ship wars, because they are just silly and a waste of time.  Although, I do enjoy a good debate now and then

I am currently a part-time student and have a full time job.

I am really glad to have found this Comm, and look forward to chatting will all of you.

Whew, I'm rather glad to see some other HP Wisconsin fans. I was starting to think it was a barren state or something. Guess I'll add to the excitement with a little intro post.

Let's see... I'm a college freshmen at UW-Madison and sometimes come home to Milwaukee to enjoy good food. I've been reading the books pretty much from book one, way back in middle school. I've only been in any way involved in fandom this last semester, tho. I avoided fanfics like the plague until a friend pointed me in the direction of good stuff (mainly, away from fanfiction.net).

As for preferences, I tend to lean R/Hr, but I'm really open to just about any pairing. Except for Draco/Hermione. It's like a pet peeve. I'm a sucker for most romance stories, but humor stories are definitely my favorite. I don't really write anything myself, but I love reading. I'm always open for recommendations on good stories to read, too.

I think that about sums it up. =D

Here via the daily_snitch - this is a really wonderful idea! I was beginning to wonder if I was the only fan who hadn't yet managed to migrate to a coastal state...

I'm not sure if introductory posts are the Polite Thing To Do here or not, but I'm going to give it a shot anyway.

I've been involved in the HP fandom for just under one year, though I've enjoyed reading the books since the release of Book 3. My main ship is Remus/Sirius, though I also love James/Lily and have become very attached to Ginny/Luna.

Personally, I'm 33, single, and have a wonderful 3-year-old daughter. By day, I work as a database admin in Milwaukee and at night I procrastinate writing FQF fics that are due in only eight days.

I'm very much looking forward to this group!
